Closed parks: National Parks closed due to ex-tropical cyclone Alfred
For safety, most national parks and reserves from the QLD/NSW border to the Hastings River at Port Macquarie are closed until Monday 17 March due to heavy rainfall, flooding and damaging winds caused by ex-tropical cyclone Alfred. Public access roads through parks will not be affected by park closures.
Penalties apply for non-compliance.

The New England Wilderness Walk is closed due to flood and storm risks.
Sunday Creek and the Bellinger river are forecast to be unsafe to traverse.
NPWS will assess the track following the passage of the current storm event and the route will be re-opened when safe.

Other planned events: Closure of Old Grafton Road
Clarence Valley Council are conducting extensive roadworks closing the Old Grafton Road (Old Glen Innes Road) between Newton Boyd and Buccarumbi, and as such access to Dalmorton campground is by Chaelundi Road from the south only. To access Chaelundi Road you will need to either enter via Marengo Road at Hernani, or via Sheepstation Creek Road at Dundurrabin. These roads are only suitable for 4WD vehicles and off-road caravans.
Please be aware this closure may add significantly to travel time to and from the campground. At this stage works are scheduled until the end of June 2025.
