Heavy rainfall and flooding combined with damaging winds caused by Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred are expected across northern NSW over the next few days. Most national parks in northern NSW including campgrounds and day use areas will be closed for safety.

Closed parks: National Parks Closed due to severe weather event

National Parks are closed from 10.00am 6th March to 10.00am 11th March due to the potentially severe weather conditions associated with the impact of Tropical Cyclone Alfred. Penalties apply for non-compliance.

Remember, it’s never safe to drive, ride or walk through flood waters. Roads into and throughout the park are also closed. This park will re-open as soon as it is safe. Check Live Traffic NSW for up-to-date information or contact the local park office 02 6739 0700.

For assistance during severe weather visit the NSW SES website. In life-threatening situations call emergency services on Triple Zero (000).

Safety alerts: Speed limits within park

Vehicle access in Boonoo Boonoo NP is restricted to a maximum of 40km/h throughout the park, and some areas with shared pedestrian access are restricted to 10km/h. Gravel roads can become slippery at times, particularly in wet weather, so please exercise caution and adhere to the sign-posted limits.
