Experience the beauty of the Snowy Mountains alpine country on this guided hiking tour with The Adventure Gene. You’ll explore historic alpine huts, spot native wildflowers and summit Australia’s highest peak, Mount Kosciuszko.
This is a long and challenging hike. You’ll walk 230km over 14 days and pass through rugged terrain that’s inaccessible by vehicle. Following the Australian Alps Walking Track between Tharwa and Dead Horse Gap, the remote nature of this route provides an authentic wildness experience without the crowds.
Modern hiking equipment and nutritious meals are included. You’ll carry a pack with a total weight of under 10kg.

Opening times
Kosciuszko National Park is open all year but at times some roads and trails close due to weather conditions or park management issues. For details, click the local alerts or contact the park's visitor centres.

Park entry fees:
Winter peak From Friday June long weekend to Monday October long weekend: $29 per vehicle per day (24hrs); motorcycles $12; bus passengers $11.45 per adult, $3.60 per child per day (24hrs). Find out more about the Winter entry surcharge.
Rest of the year From Tuesday after October long weekend to Thursday before June long weekend: $17 per vehicle per day (24hrs); motorcycles $7; bus passengers $6.60 per adult, $2.20 per child per day (24hrs).
Yarrangobilly Caves (year-round) $4 per vehicle per day, unless general park entry has been paid.
Passes: Single and Multi-Day passes available from entry stations, NPWS visitor centres and pay machines. For Thredbo-Perisher area, Khancoban area and Selwyn area, Single and Multi-Day passes are also available via the Park'nPay app.
Annual Passes available for purchase online or at NPWS visitor centres. Short Breaks Pass: $68 for 5 days at price of 4 days (not valid winter) is available at local NPWS visitor centres and entry stations on Alpine Way and Kosciuszko Rd.
