Murray Valley Regional Park
What we're doing
Park management activities
Murray Valley Regional Park has management strategies in place to protect and conserve the values of this park. Visit the detailed park and fire management documents.
Developing visitor facilities and experiences
At Edward River Bridge you’ll find a wheelchair-accessible kayak launch specially designed to help paddlers with a range of abilities and mobility restrictions get in and out of their paddle craft easily and safely.
Managing fire
We perform hazard reduction burning within Murray Valley Regional Park. Please be aware of the dangers of fires over the summer months. A Solid Fuel Fire Ban is usually in place from 1 October until 31 March each year.
Managing weeds, pest animals and other threats
Throughout the year we run a number of pest programs, including the deer eradication program which aims to reduce deer as an emerging threat to the internationally significant Ramsar wetlands.
Preserving biodiversity
We're dedicated to preserving the special landscapes and natural assets of Murray Valley Regional Park. One of the things we’re doing is regenerating important plant communities using local endemic species from local suppliers.
