Located on NSW’s Northern Tablelands near Glenn Innes and Tenterfield, the reserve is part of the traditional lands of the Bundjalung People. Forest Land Flora Reserve is split into 2 separate areas, one surrounded by Washpool National Park, the other adjacent to that park's northern border.
The reserve protects several threatened animal species, including an endangered frog. Forest Land Flora Reserve is also part of a regional wildlife corridor that links up Malara State Forest, Washpool State Conservation Area, and Washpool National Park, where ancient, World Heritage-listed Gondwana Rainforests are preserved.
About flora reserves
Flora reserves were established under the Forestry Act 2012 and remain State Forest. Under a unique management arrangement, this land is managed by NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service. This ensures management is consistent with the adjoining national parks.
