Closed parks: Closed campgrounds and day use areas due to severe weather predicted
All campgrounds, day use areas, walking tracks and the Tweed Scenic Drive in the Border Ranges National Park is closed from Monday 3 March to Wednesday 12 March.
This closure is in place due to the potentially dangerous weather conditions associated with the impact of Tropical Cyclone Alfred. Penalties apply for non-compliance.
Remember, it’s never safe to drive, ride or walk through flood waters. Roads into and throughout the park are also be closed. Check Live Traffic NSW for up-to-date information and contact the Kyogle NPWS office on 02 6632 0000 or email npws.richmondriver@environment.nsw.gov.au

Some areas of Mount Jerusalem National are closed from Monday 3rd March 2025 until Wednesday 12 March 2025.
This closure is in place due to the potentially dangerous weather conditions associated with the impact of Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
Gidjuum Gulganyi Walk and campgrounds (Weeun Ween and Yelgun Kyoomgun) will be closed from Monday 3rd March until Wednesday 12 March 2025.

Closed areas: Flood Remediation works at Mt Jerusalem NP, South Chowan Rd
Remediation works have now begun until March 2025 to fix a landslip as a result of Flood 22 event in Mt Jerusalem NP. Area's effected include:
- South Chowan Road (Beyond the gate)
- No impact to traffic or public access road
- Bush walkers and cyclists to take extra precaution during this time

Other planned events: Vehicle access to Mount Jerusalem Central Trails, Unicorn Falls and Whiskey Creek walk
NPWS advises visitors using the Mount Jerusalem National Park Central Trails, Unicorn Falls walking track and Whiskey Creek walk to access these areas via Uki using Rowlands Creek Road and Manns Road. Byron Shire Council are currently undertaking flood restoration works within the Main Arm valley. These works include the restoration and repair of culverts and causeways along Main Arm Road, which is the main vehicle access to Mount Jerusalem National Park when approaching from Mullumbimby. Byron Shire Council have advised that Main Arm Road should only be used by local traffic. Flood restoration works to Main Arm Road are expected to be completed by early 2026. Closed areas: Border Loop Lookout closed for roadworks
The Border Loop Lookout and walking track will be closed to all visitors to allow for essential roadworks on the Lions Road.
The Lions Road will be closed to all visitors between Standfield's Bridge at Cougal and the Queensland border.

Closed areas: Nightcap Range Road closed in both directions due to major landslip repairs
Nightcap Range Road will be closed for major landslip repairs from 16 September 2024 until 31 March 2025. During this time, the road will be closed in both directions between Rummery Road and Nightcap Ridge. Please be advised this closure may be extended.
Access to Rummery Park Campground and Minyon Falls will be via Minyon Falls Road only.

Byrrill Creek walking track is closed due to landslips and erosion following severe rainfall.
An alternative walking track is now available. Visitors can access this 3km return track from behind the camp kitchen in Cutters Camp campground.
