Lane Cove National Park’s estuarine system is recognised as a threatened ecological community. Your team will work together to help us preserve this system. Their well-being will benefit as they learn about the local environment, culture and history, and assist with NPWS conservation and sustainability goals.

The Lane Cove experience runs from 9.30am to 2.30pm and features:

  • Welcome and acknowledgement of Country.
  • Tailored team-building activities and games.
  • Bush regeneration of biologically important areas, including removing weeds and rubbish and restoring native wildlife habitat.
  • An informative tour of previously rehabilitated areas of the park, touching on some local history.
  • Guidance throughout from knowledgeable, friendly Discovery rangers and guides.
  • Morning tea and lunch on request (additional fees apply).

The work involves removing introduced weeds using handheld gardening tools. Volunteers ensure that the entire root system is removed, as well as the foliage.

By volunteering, your team will directly contribute to a meaningful bush regeneration conservation program. They'll also enjoy time in nature and strengthen their team spirit. They'll help us preserve this part of Lane Cove National Park, which is home to many native birds including kookaburras, rainbow lorikeets, currawongs and Pacific white-faced herons.
