Heavy rainfall and flooding combined with damaging winds caused by Cyclone Alfred are expected across northern NSW over the next few days. Most national parks in northern NSW including campgrounds and day use areas will be closed for safety.

National Parks are closed from 4th March to 12th March due to the potentially severe weather conditions associated with the impact of Tropical Cyclone Alfred. Penalties apply for non-compliance.

Remember, it’s never safe to drive, ride or walk through flood waters. Roads into and throughout the park are also closed. Check Live Traffic NSW for up-to-date information and contact the local park office.

North Rocks Road is closed until Monday 30 June 2025. The road is currently unsafe to traffic. This closure maybe extended, and any extension will be posted as soon as possible.

Closed areas: Byrrill Creek walking track closed

Byrrill Creek walking track is closed due to landslips and erosion following severe rainfall. 

An alternative walking track is now available. Visitors can access this 3km return track from behind the camp kitchen in Cutters Camp campground.
