Toorongong lookout
Bouddi National Park
Overview
Constructed around a natural sandstone cliff is Toorongong lookout in Bouddi National Park. It’s a great vantage point to view Maitland Bombora and Bouddi Point on the NSW Central Coast.
Toorongong lookout is located on Bouddi coastal walk, between Maitland Bay and Mount Bouddi walking track. You can access the lookout via a track that forks out from the nearby Dadar lookout.
This well-positioned lookout offers striking coastal views of Bouddi Point and the surrounding rock platform. You’ll even see Maitland Bombora, the location of the demise of the historic Maitland paddle steamer in 1898.
Toorongong means ‘whale’ in the local Aboriginal language. If you’re visiting from May to July, keep your eyes peeled for humpback whales on their annual migration north to warmer waters. From August to November, you’ll have the chance to see them return south, back to Antarctica.
