Pilliga Forest lookout tower is in Timmallallie National Park near Salt Caves picnic area. It’s a great place to soak up sweeping views of the forest and distant mountain ranges beyond.
It’s easy to enjoy eagle’s eye views from Pilliga Forest lookout tower. From Salt Caves picnic area simply walk up a small rise, then climb the steps to the top of the tower.
You’ll be rewarded by unparalleled vistas of vast Pilliga Forest. On clear days you can see all the way to the Warrumbungles to the south-east, and Mount Kaputar Park in the north-east.
Be aware that Pilliga Forest lookout tower sways in high winds.
