The Six Mile Creek Walk and lookout in South East Forest National Park are currently closed during rebuilding works. Penalties apply for non-compliance. Fire bans: Park Fire Ban - Mimosa Rocks National Park
A park fire ban will be in place across Mimosa Rocks National Park from 23rd December 2024 and will remain in effect unless otherwise extended or removed. During park fire ban periods, all campfire and solid fuel (wood, heat beads, charcoal, briquettes, hexamine) barbecues and stoves are prohibited. Gas and electric barbecues and cookers are permitted as long as:
- They're under direct control of an adult
- The ground within 2m of the barbecue is cleared of all flammable materials
- There's an adequate supply of water (minimum of a bucket)
If a Total Fire Ban is in place, different rules apply. Contact the local park office before bringing a gas or electric barbecue or cooker.

Safety alerts: Ball-shaped pollution found on 1080 Beach, Pooles Beach, and Aragunnu Beach
Ball-shaped pollution recently washed up on 1080 Beach, Pooles Beach, and Aragunnu Beach within the Eurobodalla and Mimosa Rocks National Parks.
Avoid contact, do not touch. The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) are currently investigating.
Please follow directives of NPWS & EPA staff and adhere to warning and closed area signage.

Closed areas: Light to Light walk upgrades
Upgrades to Light to Light walk have been completed from Boyds Tower to Bittangabee campground. You can access the upgraded track sections from Boyds Tower to Saltwater Creek and from Saltwater Creek to Bittangabee Bay.
If you'd like to complete a modified end-to-end walk, the existing track remains open from Bittangabee campground to Green Cape.
Track upgrades are continuing on remaining sections of the new Light to Light walk. Please don't enter closed areas under construction, and monitor NPWS alerts for track updates. Please be prepared to modify your itinerary while track upgrades are underway.

Safety alerts: Gillards Beach access steps closed until further notice
The 4 southern beach access points at Gillards Campground are currently closed due to severe erosion. Successive large seas have removed large amounts of sand from the beach resulting in these access points being unusable.
Park users staying in sites 1 to 17 should use the beach access steps to the north instead which is easily accessible via a short walk.
Beach access steps for sites 19 to 39 currently remain open.

Other planned events: Notice of 1080 ongoing baiting program
NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an ongoing ground baiting program from Monday 30 September 2024 to Monday 31 March 2025. The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and/or foxes.
The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species and will take place in:
- Araluen Nature Reserve
- Badja Swamps Nature Reserve
- Beowa National Park
- Berlang State Conservation Area
- Bondi Gulf Nature Reserve
- Bournda National Park
- Bournda Nature Reserve
- Coolumbooka Nature Reserve
- Deua National Park
- Eurobodalla National Park
- Kooraban National Park
- Majors Creek State Conservation Area
- Mimosa Rocks National Park
- Monga National Park and State Conservation Area
- South East Forest National Park
- Wadbilliga National Park
Signs will be placed at the entry to baiting locations. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands.
Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.
