Chandler River lookout
Oxley Wild Rivers National Park
Overview
Chandler River lookout is in Oxley Wild Rivers National Park along Chandler View circuit walk. It’s a great place to enjoy stunning river valley views and watch raptors soar overhead.
This lofty viewpoint is the perfect spot for a break when doing Chandler View circuit walk. From here you can see where the Oaky and Styx rivers join before they meet the mighty Macleay. The river valleys contain pockets of dry rainforest, home to a wide array of plants and animals.
Peregrine falcons live in nearby rocky outcrops and wedge-tailed eagles often cruise the thermals above the ridges. If you’re lucky, you may even spot a brush-tailed rock-wallaby, an endangered marsupial that also makes its home here.
