The 3 parks here, Murrumbidgee Valley National Park, Murrumbidgee Valley Regional Park and Murrumbidgee Valley Nature Reserve, collectively protect part of the largest continuous tract of river red gum forest in the world. They’re also home to over 200 koalas in the area known by locals as the Koala Reserve.

As you take in the incredible beauty of this unique landscape, you’ll be spoiled for choice with things to do. Discover the delights of the nearby iconic riverside towns Narrandera and Hay, go fishing or explore the Murrumbidgee River by canoe. Along the way you’ll find plenty of scenic spots to birdwatch, hike or cycle.

Murrumbidgee Valley National Park

Nestled along the Murrumbidgee River, Murrumbidgee Valley National Park is an idyllic place to relax and unwind.

Watch for woodland and wetland birds at Turkey Flat birdhide, then walk or cycle along Turkey Flat trail before stopping for a riverside lunch at Middle Beach. If you're keen for more, why not spend a night under the stars at one of the mony picturesque campgrounds?

Dogs are not allowed in this park, but you can bring your dog to several dog-friendly locations in neighbouring Murrumbidgee Valley Regional Park.

Murrumbidgee Valley Regional Park

Bring your dog to Murrumbidgee Valley Regional Park and get back to nature in the heart of river red gum country.

The sandy beaches here are perfect for kayaking and boating, and there's plenty of space to spread out along your own little slice of river frontage.

You can visit for a day to enjoy a picnic and some walking, but it’s better to stay longer to take in all that the park has to offer. Pitch your tent at one of the many scenic campgrounds for an authentic bush camping experience along the banks of the Murrumbidgee River.
