Protecting our native animals and plants
Native plants and animals in NSW parks and reserves are protected under the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974 and Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016. Some threatened species, like the Gould's petrel, and their sensitive habitats, have been given extra protection as Assets of Intergenerational Significance.
