Audley is a small precinct set amid native bushland in Sydney’s Royal National Park, where Hacking River meets Kangaroo Creek. It was first surveyed in 1863 and became popular with day-trippers, holiday makers and honeymooners.
Today, many of Audley’s historic buildings still stand. On this fascinating tour you’ll visit Audley boatshed, the Commonwealth Pavilion, and the heritage-listed and beautifully refurbished Audley Dance Hall. You’ll also hear stories of places that played a key role in the area’s history but are no longer part of the landscape, including Allambie Guesthouse.
Along the way you’ll be invited to compare photos from the past with the Audley of today. With less than 1km of gentle walking, the tour is an easy way to learn more about the European cultural heritage of this beautiful spot.
