Closed areas: Bundjalung National Park and Bundjalung State Conservation Area closures

Bundjalung National Park and Bundjalung State Conversation Area are closed from Tuesday 4 March to Wednesday 12 March 2025. 

This closure is in place due to the potentially dangerous weather conditions associated with the impact of Tropical Cyclone Alfred.

The closed areas include:

  • Mibanbah Black Rocks campground
  • Jerusalem Creek walk & paddle route
  • Emu loop walking track

Penalties apply for non-compliance. Remember, it’s never safe to drive, ride or walk through flood waters. Roads into and throughout the park are also be closed. Check Live Traffic NSW for up-to-date information and contact the Kyogle NPWS office on 02 6632 0000 or email npws.richmondriver@environment.nsw.gov.au

For assistance during severe weather visit the NSW SES website. In life-threatening situations call emergency services on Triple Zero (000).

Roadworks will be underway on Gap Road from Wednesday 26 February to Friday 21 March 2025. The road may be uneven and slippery during this time. Drive safely and follow the directions of roadwork signs and NPWS staff.

Other planned events: Notice of noise from RAAF training operations

Bundjalung National Park visitors may experience loud aircraft noise until further notice. RAAF training operations from the nearby Evans Head Air Weapons Range may be heard and seen from the Black Rocks campground and Jerusalem Creek paddle route and walking track.

Please note:

  • The RAAF schedule of planned air operations is available on the Defence Aircraft Noise webpage.
  • RAAF schedules for the Air Weapons Range in Bundjalung National Park can change at short notice due to weather or other operational considerations.
  • Aircraft may not utilise the range every day of scheduled operations.
