Other planned events: Woody Head emergency stabilisation works

NPWS will be carrying out emergency stabilisation works on Woody Head Bay Beach and the adjacent rock wall from Monday 3 June to Friday 28 June 2024.

Works will involve seawall repair and beach nourishment, involving approximately 2,500 m³ of sand extracted and placed on Woody Bay Beach for initial beach nourishment and dune rebuilding. Rehabilitation works to Woody Head Bay will be ongoing once sand nourishment is complete. There will be no pedestrian access to Woody Bay Beach and the adjacent rock wall.

All other areas in Woody Head will remain open for use, including the boat ramp. There will be traffic control on Woody Head Road during this time. Please drive safely, slowly and follow all directions of NPWS staff, roadwork and closure area signs.

There will be some noise associated with the works, but only between 7am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. There will be no works over weekends.
