Overview

Blackfellows Point Beach is a 270m long sandy beach just north of Blackfellows Point, near Potato Point. It’s a 5min walk to the beach from Beachcomber Holiday Park.

Blackfellows Point Beach is unpatrolled. The safest place to swim is between the red and yellow flags at a patrolled beach. The closest patrolled beaches are at Dalmeny or Tuross Beach.

There’s no lifeguard service here. The beach has dangerous rip currents, sudden drop offs and unexpected large waves. The ocean may look idyllic, but conditions can change rapidly.

It receives slight protection to the south and is bordered in places by jagged rock platforms. Use caution if swimming and watch for strong rips against the southern rocks.

You may be lucky to see pied oystercatchers, sooty oystercatchers and hooded plovers nesting on this beach. Please keep your distance and don’t disturb the birds when nesting. There is direct access to the beach for guests staying at Beachcomber Holiday Park and a small public carpark off Blackfellows Point Road.

Mobile phone service is limited here. You may not be able to call for help if you need it.
