Closed areas: Coachwood Road closed for remediation works

Coachwood Road between Kookaburra and Racecourse Trail is closed until further notice for remediation works following damage from recent weather events.

Please consider alternative roads, such as Hastings Forest Way and Kangaroo Flat Road during this time. Access to Carrai and Werrikimbe national parks remain open from Carrai Road and Racecourse Trail.

Threlfall Walking Track is temporarily closed due to high flood water covering the pedestrian bridges. The track will be reopened once the water has subsided.

Closed areas: Parts of Oxley Wild Rivers National Parks are Closed due to wet weather & hazardous Road Conditions

The following areas are closed from Wednesday 14 August to 2pm Monday 19 August due to widespread rain and hazardous road conditions:

  • Riverside Campground and Picnic Area
  • Budds Mare Campground and Picnic Area
  • Budds Mare to Riverside walking track
  • Budds Mare Lookout
     

Remember, it’s never safe to drive, ride or walk through flood waters, so you’ll need to reschedule your visit and avoid travel through areas in this park. A section of Cockerawombeeba Road is closed between North Plateau Road and Forbes River Road due to storm damage.

Cockerawombeeba Road is open between North Plateau Road (Plateau Beech Campground) and Hastings Forest Way.

Plateau Beech and Brushy Mountain Campgrounds are both open and are best accessed via Hastings Forest Way.

  • Wilson River picnic area
  • Wilson River Bridge on Hastings Forest Way
  • North Wilson Road
  • Waterfall Walk
  • Botanic Walk

Access to the Banda Banda Aboretum is open however extreme caution should be exercised. The trail becomes very slippery in damp or even misty weather and there is an increased risk of fallen trees blocking the trail. There are limited places to turn around safely if the trail is blocked. Visitors are encouraged to walk in to the Arboretum rather than drive.
