MIA 3 campgrounds
Murrumbidgee Valley National Park
Overview
Enjoy riverside camping in the MIA 3 area of Murrumbidgee Valley National Park, about 15 mins from the township of Whitton. Home to amazing birdlife, go canoeing and kayaking along the Murrumbidgee River.
You can choose to camp at any of these 4 campgrounds when you arrive at Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area 3 (MIA 3):
- Demamiel Bend
- Possum Beach
- The Punt
- Whitton Beach
There are no camping fees but a $6 booking fee applies. Bookings are required.
Permitted
- Campfires are permitted between April and September.
- Collection of deadfall timber is permitted for small campfires only.
Prohibited
- You can't remove firewood from the park. Chainsaws are not permitted.
- Pets and domestics animals (other than certified assistance animals) are not permitted in Murrumbidgee Valley National Park. If you want to camp with your dog, find a campground in Murrumbidgee Valley Regional Park.
Vehicle access and road quality
All roads within Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area 3 (MIA 3) are unsealed. 4WD vehicles are recommended when wet. Campervans/RVs are permitted in this area, however not all campgrounds suit these types of vehicles.
How to get there
If you’re coming from Whitton:
- Travel 8.5km along Whitton Road on your way to Gogeldrie.
- Turn right off Whitton Road onto Gogeldrie Road.
- Follow Gogeldrie Road for about 6.5km.
- Turn right onto River Road.
- Follow the unsealed River Road for 3km.
- Turn left into the MIA 3 entrance.
There are no rubbish collection points. Please take all rubbish when you leave.
