All the practical information you need to know about Burra Korain Flat campground.

Getting there and parking

Burra Korain campground is in the Blackheath area of Blue Mountains National Park. Located near Mount Victoria, the campground can only be accessed by foot. To get there from Victoria Falls:

  • Follow the Great Western Highway towards Mount Victoria.
  • As you reach Mount Victoria, turn right onto Victoria Falls Road.
  • Follow the unsealed road 5km to the carpark.
  • Leave the car here and start your walk. 
  • It’s a steep and challenging 4km walk from the carpark, down to Burra Korain Flat campground and you will need to carry everything in with you.

Parking

Parking is available at the end of Victoria Falls Road.

By public transport

Take a train to Mount Victoria station and walk or cycle 6.5km to Victoria Falls lookout carpark, where this walking track starts. Be cautious of cars and trucks along the highway section. If cycling, you’ll need to bring a bike chain and lock, plus walking shoes.

Facilities

  • There's no drinking water. Boil water from the Grose River for at least 3 minutes before drinking.
  • Rubbish bins are not provided. Please take your rubbish with you when you leave.

Toilets

The campground has a non-flush toilet. Another non-flush toilet is located in the lookout carpark before you walk down to Burra Korain Flat campground. There are no other toilets along the 2 to 3 hour walk.
