From Monday 2 February to Friday 3 April 2026, there will be construction to upgrade visitor facilities in small areas of the Geehi campgrounds. This includes Geehi Flats, Behrs Flat and Old Geehi campgrounds. The campgrounds will remain open, although machinery will be operating in the campgrounds during this time. Do not enter construction areas. Penalties apply for non-compliance.

Thredbo Valley track is closed from Thredbo Resort to Gaden Trout Hatchery, including Muzzlewood track, due to wet weather.

Other planned events: Transport for NSW - construction works at Cascade trail head
Transport for NSW (TfNSW) will be undertaking culvert works on the Thredbo River bridge, Alpine Way, from Monday 23 February to Friday 13 March 2026. This is adjacent to the Cascade trail carpark.
Public parking for Cascade trail, Thredbo River track and Dead Horse Gap walking track will be limited during this time. Alternative parking is available at Dead Horse Gap.
Public access to these walks will not be affected by the works.
Please follow all directions from TfNSW and NPWS staff. Penalties apply for non-compliance.

Closed areas: Illawong Trackhead closed to vehicles for upgrade
The Guthega Track Head vehicle drop off area and turning circle is closed to vehicles for construction works from Monday 10 October 2025 to Friday 1 May 2026.
Walkers can still access the Snowies Alpine Walk and Illawong Walk. NPWS are constructing a new toilet facility at the Guthega Track Head.
