Closed areas: Sections of Kosciuszko National Park closed for Feral Animal Control
NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting ground shooting operations in the Main Range Area of Kosciuszko National Park, including walking tracks and areas surrounding Mt Kosciuszko.
This area of the park will be closed 6pm to 6am daily, Tuesday 25th March to Friday 28th March 2025 for ground shooting for feral animal control.
Closure notices will be placed at relevant access points in Kosciuszko National Park.
This program will target feral animals to reduce impacts upon native plants and animals including threatened species.

- Main Range Walk
- Kosciuszko Walk
- Hannel’s Spur
- Seamans Hut
- Cootapatamba Hut
- Rawsons Pass

Other planned events: Notification of Ongoing 1080 Baiting - Wild Dogs/Foxes
The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting an ongoing baiting program from Saturday 8 February 2025 to Thursday 7 August 2025. The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes. This program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species, and to minimise the impact of wild dogs on neighbouring stock.
Baiting programs will take place across Kosciuszko National Park in Thredbo/Ingebyra, Dalgety/Paupong and Corrowong/Tombong/Merriangaah Wild Dog Plan Areas. Baiting programs will also be undertaken in Paupong, Merriangaah and Quidong Nature Reserves.
This includes the following sections of Kosciuszko National Park: Thredbo Valley, Moonbah, Ingebyra, Paupong, Numbla Vale and Corrowong.
Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Closed areas: Cascade trail carpark closed - 3 February to 25 April 2025
Transport for NSW is carrying out essential maintenance on the large culverts beneath the Alpine Way adjacent to the Cascade trail carpark.
The Cascade Trail carpark will be closed for parking from Monday 3 February 2025 to Friday 25 April 2025, as workers and machinery will be occupying the area. Visitors accessing Cascade trail are asked to use the Dead Horse Gap carpark and walk about 500m to reach the trailhead, following any signage.
During work hours, access to the walking track will be managed under traffic control for the safety of pedestrians, workers and motorists. Please follow the directions of workers and signage.

Major works are occurring at the Gungarlin River campground from Monday 3 March to Friday 21 March 2025. During this time camping sites to the east of the Island Bend fire trail will not be accessible from Monday to Friday, and the only sites available for camping will be those west of the Island Bend fire trail. All sites will be open on the weekends.

Safety alerts: Skitube Bridge maintenance works 17-31 March 2025
Maintenance works will be occurring on the Skitube Bridge and surrounding areas starting 7am, Monday 17 March 2025 until 5pm, Monday 31 March 2025.
Access to the Thredbo Valley Track, Snowies Alpine walk and Bundilla accessible track will not be affected.

Recent severe winds have brought down a tree on the toilet block at Thredbo River picnic area. As a result the toilet block is closed and cannot be used. Fire trail maintenance work is currently being undertaken on Cascade Trail between the Alpine Way and the Cowombat/Ingeegoodbee Trail intersection.
