Closed areas: Coastal Walk - Miners Beach to Tacking Point Lighthouse

Track maintenance works will be undertaken from Monday 27 May to Friday 5 July 2024 and sections of the walk will be closed during daylight hours to allow the work to be safely undertaken. Access from Shelly Beach and the stairs to Miners Beach will remain open.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting aerial and ground baiting programs. Aerial baiting is scheduled from Monday 10 June 2024 to Monday 17 June 2024. Ground baiting is scheduled from 10 June 2024 to Sunday 18 August 2024. The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of foxes and wild dogs.

The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species, and to minimise impact of wild dogs on neighbouring stock.

Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Closed areas: Coachwood Road closed for remediation works

Coachwood Road between Kookaburra and Racecourse Trail is closed until further notice for remediation works following damage from recent weather events.

Please consider alternative roads, such as Hastings Forest Way and Kangaroo Flat Road during this time. Access to Carrai and Werrikimbe national parks remain open from Carrai Road and Racecourse Trail.

Access to Yessabah Nature Reserve is permanently closed to unauthorised personnel. The former quarry area has limestone rock faces that are unstable and prone to rock fall. Other areas of the reserve are geologically unstable.
