Closed parks: The Glen Nature Reserve closed for Fire Access and Fire Trail Upgrades (FAFT)

The Glen Nature Reserve will be closed from Monday 14 October through to the 30th of January to allow contractors to undertake trail upgrade works. The closure has been put in place for the safety of both visitors and the contractors. The planned works and this closure may be weather dependent.

Closed areas: Wildlife Management Operation - closed areas

Yahoo Island Nature Reserve will be closed within a date range of 17:00pm Monday 4th November 2024 to 23:59pm Friday 8th November 2024 for Rusa Deer control shoot operations, preventing localised economic impacts and protecting Threatened Ecological Communities within the park. North Green Point within Booti Booti National Park is also included.

Flat Nellie Fire Trail will be closed for road stablisation. Signs will be placed on the trail access gate and at either end of the worksite. The trail is behind a locked gate and pedestrians are advised that machinery will be operating at the site

Cobcroft and Fenwicks Roads are closed due to hazardous road conditions.  Due to recent road works followed by rain the roads are impassable from Fenwicks bridge.   Cobcroft Picnic area and Carabean walk track will be closed until the roads are safe to reopen.   Access to Mooraback Campground and Racecourse Road from the Oxley Highway is available via Kangaroo Flat Road.

Safety alerts: Slippery and eroded walking tracks - Coastal Walk

Recent rain events have resulted in some sections of the Coastal Walk in Sea Acres National Park becoming eroded and slippery. The affected sections are between Miners Beach and the carpark adjacent to the intersection of Lighthouse Road and Matthew Flinders Drive. Walkers proceeding with the walk should exercise caution and wear appropriate footwear.

Safety alerts: Road Conditions - Crowdy Bay National Park

Park visitors are advised that the best road access for low clearance vehicles, or vehicles towing caravans, to Diamond Head, Indian Head and Kylies Beach campgrounds is from the north on Diamond Head Road via Laurieton. 

Recent road grading has improved access on Diamond Head Road north and south of Diamond Head.  

Crowdy Bay Road remains in poor condition due to wet weather experienced earlier this year. Road maintenance works are scheduled for Crowdy Bay Road when conditions allow.

Closed areas: Point Plomer campground closed for revitalisation works

Point Plomer campground will be closed for camping whilst major works are completed in the precinct from Thursday 1st August to Sunday 15th December 2024.

 

Campground bookings from December 2024 onwards will be available from the completion of the project. Dates to be announced as completion nears.
