Kalyarr National Park
What we're doing
Park management activities
Kalyarr National Park has management strategies in place to protect and conserve the values of this park. Visit the detailed park and fire management documents.
Conserving Aboriginal culture
Kalyarr National Park is managed with Traditional Owners through the Mawambul Co-management group for the conservation of cultural sites in the area. Ongoing research and recording of Aboriginal sites within the park is a priority.
Developing visitor facilities and experiences
We’re improving bushwalking, picnicking, camping and tourism experiences in Kalyarr National Park. On your visit, use the interpretive signs to learn more about the park.
Preserving biodiversity
Kalyarr National Park is a refuge for 16 threatened species and 1 endangered ecological community. It also provides an example of good condition native vegetation communities in a landscape which has largely been cleared for agriculture. To protect these values, we manage weed and pests, and fence sensitive areas to keep young plants safe from grazing animals. We also survey for threatened species.
