AERIAL PEST ANIMAL CONTROL OPERATION
The National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting an aerial shooting program targeting vertebrate pest animals such as feral goats, pigs and deer.
The program is scheduled to occur during daylight hours and this reserve will be closed from 4:00pm Tuesday 4th March 2025 to 7:00pm Sunday 9th March 2025.
Aerial shooting supplements other control measures which include trapping, ground shooting and baiting.
NPWS takes a strategic and integrated approach to pest management on lands we manage.
We aim to minimise the adverse impacts of pest animals on biodiversity, cultural values, neighbours and the community.
Only qualified and appropriately trained personnel will participate in this program.
If you have any questions regarding the aerial shooting program, please call our Bathurst office on (02) 6332 7640.
Penalties apply for non-compliance

Other planned events: Notice of 1080 Baiting
The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting a baiting program using Canid Pest Ejectors (CPEs) and fresh meat baits containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes. The 1080 bating program is ongoing and will continue to be conducted between 01 March 2025 and 31 August 2025 within Winburndale Nature Reserve. All baiting locations will be identifiable by signs.
Please be reminded that domestic pets are not permitted on NPWS estate. Pets and working dogs may be affected and must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity of the nature reserve and must not enter the baiting location (as 1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.
For further information please contact the NPWS Central West Area office at Bathurst on (02) 6332 7640.
