NPWS have commenced construction of a new 4WD beach access at Diamond Head Campground.
The new access will provide a 200m pedestrian safety zone on the southern corner of Dunbogan Beach adjacent to Diamond Head Campground.
Construction is planned to commence on 11th November and is expected to take approximately two weeks.
The existing 4WD beach access point will remain open until the new access is operational. There will be no restrictions on access to Dunbogan Beach during works.

Access to the Banda Banda Aboretum is open however extreme caution should be exercised. The trail becomes very slippery in damp or even misty weather and there is an increased risk of fallen trees blocking the trail. There are limited places to turn around safely if the trail is blocked. Visitors are encouraged to walk in to the Arboretum rather than drive.

Safety alerts: Slippery and eroded walking tracks - Coastal Walk
Recent rain events have resulted in some sections of the Coastal Walk in Sea Acres National Park becoming eroded and slippery. The affected sections are between Miners Beach and the carpark adjacent to the intersection of Lighthouse Road and Matthew Flinders Drive. Walkers proceeding with the walk should exercise caution and wear appropriate footwear.

Safety alerts: Road Conditions - Crowdy Bay National Park
Park visitors are advised that the best road access for low clearance vehicles, or vehicles towing caravans, to Diamond Head, Indian Head and Kylies Beach campgrounds is from the north on Diamond Head Road via Laurieton.
Recent road grading has improved access on Diamond Head Road north and south of Diamond Head.
Crowdy Bay Road remains in poor condition due to wet weather experienced earlier this year. Road maintenance works are scheduled for Crowdy Bay Road when conditions allow.

A section of Cockerawombeeba Road is closed between North Plateau Road and Forbes River Road due to storm damage.
Cockerawombeeba Road is open between North Plateau Road (Plateau Beech Campground) and Hastings Forest Way.
Plateau Beech and Brushy Mountain Campgrounds are both open and are best accessed via Hastings Forest Way.

Closed areas: Point Plomer campground closed for revitalisation works
Point Plomer campground will be closed for camping whilst major works are completed in the precinct from Thursday 1st August to Sunday 15th December 2024.
Campground bookings from December 2024 onwards will be available from the completion of the project. Dates to be announced as completion nears.
