Closed areas: Areas closed for ground pest control operation

Some areas in this park are closed from 6am, Tuesday 1 April to 6pm, Thursday 17 April 2025 for ground shooting for feral animal control. This program will target pigs. It aims to reduce the significant impact they have on native plants and animals including threatened species

The closed areas are:

  • Drummer's Flat
  • Morrison's Flat
  • Honeyeater Flat
  • River flats south of the Goulburn River-Merriwa River confluence
  • Moolarben Creek (excluding Moolarben Picnic Area)
  • Fire trails accessed from Cumbo Road

Fire bans: Kanangra Reserves

A park fire ban is in place in this park and remains in effect unless otherwise extended or removed.

However Wombeyan Caves campground in Wombeyan Karst Conservation Reserve is exempt.

During park fire ban periods, all campfire and solid fuel (wood, heat beads, charcoal, briquettes, hexamine) barbecues and stoves are prohibited. Gas and electric barbecues and cookers are permitted as long as:

  • They're under direct control of an adult
  • The ground within 2m of the barbecue is cleared of all flammable materials
  • There's an adequate supply of water (minimum of a bucket)

If a Total Fire Ban is in place, different rules apply. Contact the local park office before bringing a gas or electric barbecue or cooker.

Manobalai Nature Reserve and Tangory Nature Reserve is closed from 5am Tuesday 1 April to 6pm Friday 4 April 2025 for an aerial pest control operation.
