Closed areas: Areas closed due to Extreme Fire Danger

Some walking tracks are closed from 5:00pm Tuesday 21 January to 9:00am Saturday 25 January 2025 due to Extreme Fire Danger.

This closure includes the following walking tracks:

  • Sawn Rocks walking track (including Sawn Rocks lookout)
  • Waa Gorge walking track
  • Mill-bullah walking track
  • Yana-y Warruwi walking track
  • Yulludunida walking track

Note that Yulludunida walking track remains closed until 9:00am SUNDAY 26 January 2025.

All campgrounds will remain open.

Fire bans: Park Fire Ban

A Park Fire Ban is in place in this park and remains in effect unless otherwise extended or removed. During Park Fire Ban periods, all campfires and solid fuel (wood, heat beads, charcoal, briquettes, hexamine) barbecues and stoves are prohibited. Gas and electric barbecues and cookers are permitted, as long as:

  • They are under the direct control of a responsible adult, who is present at all times during operation
  • The area within two metres of the barbecue is cleared of all flammable materials
  • There is a ready supply of water adequate to extinguish all flames (minimum of a bucket)

If a Total Fire Ban is in place, different rules apply. Contact the Barwon Area office on (02) 6792 7300 before bringing a gas or electric barbecue or cooker.
