Gentle hills: There are some places where the track slopes slightly and one moderately steep section as the walk loops back to The Glade picnic area.

Quality of path

Formed track: The walk is a 1m to 1.5m-wide track bitumen track with a paved section at The Glade picnic area between the carpark and where the walk enters the rainforest.

Getting there and parking

Satinbird stroll is near The Glade picnic area precinct of Dorrigo National Park. To get there:

  • Follow signs to Dorrigo National Park/Dorrigo Rainforest Centre from Waterfall Way (1km south of Dorrigo).
  • After arriving at Dorrigo Rainforest Centre, follow signs 1km to The Glade picnic area.

Parking

Car and bus parking is available in a bitumen carpark at The Glade picnic area, including 1 accessible parking spot.

The weather at Dorrigo National Park can vary from warm to mild to cool, depending on the time of year you visit. The summer months usually have the highest rainfall.

  • This walk is a 600m bitumen path through subtropical rainforest.
  • Assistance may be needed on the slightly sloped sections of the track. There's also one moderately steep section as the walk loops back to The Glade picnic area.
  • There's a bench seat for resting in the southern part of the loop walk
  • There's an accessible parking space and an accessible non-flush toilet at The Glade picnic area, where this walk begins and ends.
