Other planned events: Construction of new 4WD beach access at Diamond Head

NPWS have commenced construction of a new 4WD beach access at Diamond Head Campground.

The new access will provide a 200m pedestrian safety zone on the southern corner of Dunbogan Beach adjacent to Diamond Head Campground.

Construction is planned to commence on 11th November and is expected to take approximately two weeks.

The existing 4WD beach access point will remain open until the new access is operational. There will be no restrictions on access to Dunbogan Beach during works.

Safety alerts: Road Conditions - Crowdy Bay National Park

Park visitors are advised that the best road access for low clearance vehicles, or vehicles towing caravans, to Diamond Head, Indian Head and Kylies Beach campgrounds is from the north on Diamond Head Road via Laurieton.

Recent road grading has improved access on Diamond Head Road north and south of Diamond Head.

Crowdy Bay Road remains in poor condition due to wet weather experienced earlier this year. Road maintenance works are scheduled for Crowdy Bay Road when conditions allow.

For more information, contact the local NPWS office on (02) 6588 5555.
