Closed areas: Mount Canobolas Road to Summit closed due to snow
Mount Canobolas State Conservation Area's main road to the summit are closed to vehicles from Sunday 3pm, 14 July 2024 until further notice due to snow and fallen timber.
The following roads and entry points to the park are closed to vehicles:
- The gate past the junction of Mount Canobolas road and Towac Way
Penalties apply for non-compliance.
The remainder of the conservation area and visitor carpark areas remain open to vehicles.

Other planned events: NOTICE OF 1080 BAITING Mount Canobolas State Conservation Area
The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting a baiting program which will include the placement of ground baits and the use of Canid Pest Ejectors (CPE’s) containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of foxes.
The program will be continuous and ongoing between 1 March 2024 to 31 August 2024 within Mount Canobolas State Conservation Area.
All baiting locations will be identifiable by signs.
Please be reminded that domestic pets are not permitted on NPWS Estate. Pets and property working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the reserve or baiting location.
In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.
