Getting there and parking

Fairfax Heritage walking track starts from the Blue Mountains Heritage Centre carpark or Govetts Leap lookout, in the Blackheath area of Blue Mountains National Park.

To get there:

  • Turn off the Great Western Highway at the traffic lights in Blackheath, into Govetts Leap Road.
  • Drive for 2.5km. After passing through the park entrance, take the second exit from the roundabout for the heritage centre carpark.
  • Or, take the third exit on the roundabout and continue to Govetts Leap lookout carpark, where you can access the lower end of the track.

Parking

Parking is available in an asphalt carpark at the Blue Mountains Heritage Centre at one end of the walk, including 2 accessible parking spaces. Bus parking is available.

There's also a bitumen carpark at the Govetts Leap end of the walk, including 2 accessible parking spaces.

Fairfax Heritage walking track is a 1m-wide bitumen seal track that's flat with some gentle slopes. It's suitable for wheelchairs, prams and people with reduced mobility.

  • There are benches at points along the walk, most with backrests, where you can rest.
  • There's a ramp from the carpark to the Blue Mountains Heritage Centre, where the walk starts.
  • There are accessible toilets at both the heritage centre and at the Govetts Leap end of the track.
  • There are 2 accessible parking spaces at both ends of the track.
