Orange View picnic area and lookout offers views over the city of Orange and surrounding countryside. It’s also close to walking tracks in Mount Canobolas State Conservation Area.
Towac picnic area is in Mount Canobolas State Conservation Area, near Mount Towac walk. It’s a lovely spot for a picnic when you’re visiting Orange. Bring lunch to enjoy before a walk up Mount Towac.
Bill Lyle Reserve is an ideal place to picnic at Hill End Historic Site. You’ll find free barbecues, picnic tables and a playground for the kids.
Fourth Crossing picnic area next to Summer Hill Creek, near Orange, is a great base for exploring gold mining history on walking tracks, swimming or trout fishing.
The Walls lookout is in Mount Canobolas State Conservation Area and connects to Nature walking track. It’s a great spot to see the view over the eastern reach of the park and Orange in the distance.

Historic Water Race walking track, near Orange, is a medium-difficulty walk offering birdwatching and gold mining history as well as swimming and fishing along Summer Hill Creek.
Go bushwalking, or 4WD, to Mount Nangar lookout for scenic views of the surrounding country and to enjoy great birdwatching, close to Orange and Forbes.
