Guides are recommended for Claustral Canyon, a technical canyon that requires a high level of fitness and experience. To complete it you’ll need to do abseils, swims and a long walk to get in and out.
Only fit, experienced canyoners should attempt Empress Canyon, near Wentworth Falls. This technical route features down-climbs, jumps, swims and a 30m overhanging abseil down a waterfall.
For fit and experienced canyoners only, Fortress Canyon is challenging and should only be attempted with a guide. This technical canyon features 2 abseils, down climbs, jumps and long swims.
Grand Canyon is a short, technical canyon only suitable for fit and experienced canyoners. You’ll need to swim, scramble and do a 20m over-hanging abseil.
Only fit canyoners should tackle Jugglers Canyon, near Medlow Bath and Grand Canyon. It’s a short route but to complete it you’ll need to do wading, scrambles and 4 abseils, including a 20m abseil from a rock overhang.
North Bowens Creek Canyon, near Mount Wilson in Blue Mountains National Park, should only be attempted with a guide. With down-climbs, swims and abseils, it’s for fit and experienced canyoners only.
