Getting there and parking
Werri Berri picnic area is in the southern precinct of Thirlmere Lakes National Park. To get there:
- If travelling north from Buxton on West Parade, turn left into Slades Road or Pumphouse Road.
- If travelling south from Picton, turn right onto Slades Road and continue approximately 1km to the picnic area, which will be on the left.

Parking is available adjacent to the picnic areas. Please note that the parking area is unsealed.

The picnic area is flat and mostly step-free, with a hard-packed ground pathway that leads to the toilets. You'll need to cross over flat grass to reach the rest of the facilities.
There are 2 beach access paths but both have steps - the southern access path has 2 timber steps and the northern access path has 5 rock steps.

Thirmere Lakes is open from from 5.30am to 8pm during daylight savings and 5.30am to 6pm rest of year. The park may have to close at times due to poor weather or fire danger.
