Terania Creek picnic area is in the Terania Creek precinct of Nightcap National Park. To get there:

  • Drive all the way along Terania Creek Road from The Channon
  • The twisting dirt road ends at the picnic area

Parking is available a short distance from the picnic area in a gravel carpark.

There are lots of great things waiting for you in Nightcap National Park. Here are some of the highlights: Weather in the northern rivers region is generally mild in winter ranging to hot in summer. It can be very wet (the park receives the highest annual rainfall in NSW) and misty so check local weather conditions and pack suitable clothes as well as a hat, sunscreen and insect repellent.

Terania Creek picnic area is flat and step-free, but there are no pathways. You'll need to cross over hard-packed ground and grass to reach the facilities.

There are accessible non-flush toilets that are set at the end of a 1.2m-wide elevated walkway.

Prohibited

Terania Creek and nearby Protesters falls are home to the very rare Fleay’s barred frog, so swimming is not permitted.
