Dorrigo Rainforest Precinct is closed until Friday 14 March as the effects of the extreme weather are assessed. The closed areas are:

Closed parks: National Parks closed due to ex-tropical cyclone Alfred
For safety, most national parks and reserves from the QLD/NSW border to the Hastings River at Port Macquarie are closed until Monday 17 March due to heavy rainfall, flooding and damaging winds caused by ex-tropical cyclone Alfred. Public access roads through parks will not be affected by park closures.
Penalties apply for non-compliance.

Safety alerts: Wilderness walk closed due flood and storm risk
The New England Wilderness Walk is closed due to flood and storm risks.
Sunday Creek and the Bellinger river are forecast to be unsafe to traverse.
NPWS will assess the track following the passage of the current storm event and the route will be re-opened when safe.

Closed areas: Partial closure of Wonga Walk- From Gondwanan circle to Tristania Falls
A section of the Wonga walk will be closed from Friday 21 February to the end of June 2025.
The section affected by the closure is the Wonga walk access to Tristania direct from Gondwanan Circle. Visitors will still be able to access Tristania Falls via Crystal Showers, but must return the same way during this time.

Slingsbys trail is closed until further notice due to severe flooding causing damage to infrastructure (bridge).
The western part of Syndicate walking track is closed from Tuesday 16 January 2024 until further notice. NPWS staff are working to assess the damage and repair options. The area will reopen when safe.
