Kosciuszko Education Centre

Kosciuszko Education Centre is in the alpine area of Kosciuszko National Park, close to Perisher. To get there from Jindabyne:

• Drive along Kosciuszko Road from Jindabyne towards Perisher Valley
• The education centre is around 12km from Jindabyne

Road quality

All 2WD vehicles need to carry snow chains in winter, between June and October long weekends, on:

• Kosciuszko Road (to Perisher)
• Guthega Road
• Alpine Way between Thredbo and Tom Groggin

Snow chains are recommended for all vehicles driving in the park, including 4WD and AWD, in the event of extreme weather. Read our snow driving in Kosciuszko tips.

Parking

There are several asphalt and bitumen carparks at the education centre. There's also bus and off-street parking.

Picnic tables

There are picnic tables outside the education centre. You can reach along the paved path from Sawpit Creek picnic area or via the access road at the back of the education centre.

Carpark

Step-free access

The education centre is set at the end of a paved pathway from Sawpit Creek picnic area and there's also a gravel access road that runs behind the education centre. Both ways of reaching the centre are step-free, but there may be some steeper sections on the paved pathway from Sawpit Creek picnic area.

There are bench seats without armrests or backrests outside the education centre and along the paved pathway from Sawpit Creek picnic area.

Disability access level - easy

Kosciuszko Education Centre is flat and step-free, with accessible facilities including:

• A ramp that leads to the area outside the education centre
• Bench seats in the outside area (the bench seats do not have backrests or armrests)
