BOOKED OUT. Ring in the new year on Goat Island – Me-mel, located between the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Balmain. You'll enjoy uninterrupted views of the Sydney fireworks from this outstanding vantage point.

This event is free. The ferry cost is $38.44 per adult/child. Children under 5 are free.

Meet at Barangaroo ferry wharf at least 30 minutes before your ferry departs.

Please note
  • Bring your own picnic dinner, snacks and a responsible amount of alcohol. You can't buy food or drinks on Goat Island.
  • Bag checks will be conducted before you board the ferry.
  • There are limits to what you can bring to Goat Island, because of the ferry's restricted carrying capacity. You can bring hand luggage that you can carry on your lap on the trip to the island.
  • This is an all-weather event.
  • Ferries leave from Barangaroo ferry wharf. They depart Goat Island at 9.30pm (after the 9pm fireworks) and after the event at 12.30am and 1.15am on Wednesday 1 January 2025.

You can't buy food or drinks on Goat Island, so you'll need to bring your own picnic dinner, snacks and a responsible amount of alcohol. You might also want to pack a picnic rug, torch and a radio, so you can settle in and listen to the NYE broadcast.
