Khancoban to Kiandra drive crosses central Kosciuszko National Park as it connects Alpine Way with Snowy Mountains Highway. As it winds up through mountain forest to the alpine plains, there are plenty of attractions to break up the journey and make a day of it.
Historic huts, remote campgrounds, bushwalking tracks, and trails for mountain biking and horse riding all tempt you to explore new areas of this vast and varied national park. Between Khancoban and Cabramurra, Australia's highest town, the drive crosses two dams used in Snowy Mountains' Hydro-Electric Scheme.
If you’re up for a serious adventure, you can even venture into the wild and beautiful Jagungal Wilderness Area.

Ogilvies Creek picnic area
Ogilvies Creek picnic area is in the Khancoban area of Kosciuszko National Park, near Tooma Dam. It’s a scenic place to stop along the Khancoban to Kiandra drive for lunch by a mountain creek.

Conservation program:
Southern corroboree frog conservation project
An iconic endangered species, the southern corroboree frog, found only in Kosciuszko National Park, faces the grave threat of extinction. Saving Our Species aims to prevent this from happening by battling chytrid fungus, protecting frog habitat from pests, and fostering a captive breeding program.

Park entry fees apply on Alpine Way
Winter (June to October long weekends): $29 per vehicle per day (24hrs from purchase); motorcycles $12; bus passengers $11.45 per adult, $3.60 per child per day. Find out more about the winter entry surcharge.
Rest of Year: $17 per vehicle per day (24hrs); motorcycles $7; bus passengers $6.60 per adult, $2.20 per child per day.
Passes: Single and Multi-Day passes available from Khancoban Visitor Centre's 24-hour vending machines, or via the Park'nPay app.

The Selwyn area is open all year, but some roads and trails may close due to weather conditions or park management issues. Kings Cross Road and the Khancoban-Cabramurra Road are closed in winter (June to October long weekends). Some campgrounds in the Selwyn area close in winter.
