Getting there and parking

From Broken Hill (2 hours): 

  • Drive north on Silver City Highway (towards Tibooburra) for about 31km.
  • Turn left on Corona Road and drive for almost 97km 
  • Continue straight on Border Downs Road for 2.5km.
  • Take a sharp right onto Teilta Road and drive for 1km.
  • Turn left and drive 500m to the campground and picnic area.

From Tibooburra (3 hours):

  • Drive south on Silver City Highway (towards Broken Hill) for about 272km.
  • Turn right onto Mount Westwood Road and drive for almost 56km.
  • Turn left onto Corona Road and drive for 1.5km.
  • Turn right onto Border Downs Road and drive for 2.5km. 
  • Take a sharp right onto Teilta Road and drive for 1km.
  • Turn left and drive for 500m to the campground and picnic area.

 

Please bring extra provisions because roads may close for extended periods due to rain. After heavy rainfall, roads may close to all vehicles or access may be restricted to 4WD vehicles for as long as 3 months. Contact Broken Hill park office for updates.

Safety is of high priority in outback areas. In summer, temperatures can reach up to 50°C in some places. Food, water and fuel supplies can be scarce. Before you head off, check for road closures and use our contacts to stay safe in the outback.
