Koala conservation project

The NSW Government has an ambitious goal of securing threatened species in the wild for the next 100 years. The koala conservation project is delivering local conservation actions to secure koalas through:

  • Reducing critical threats to the species
  • Ensuring adequate protection, management and restoration of koala habitat
  • Maintaining healthy breeding populations of koalas throughout their current range

More project details can be found on the Saving our Species koala profile.

The NSW Koala Strategy is also committing $44.7 million to stabilise, then increase, koala population numbers across the state.
