Overview

Warrawolong Nature Reserve was created in October 2022. It covers an area of 101.7ha. View the detailed park and fire management documents.

Warrawolong Nature Reserve is around 12km south-east of Laguna, a town in the Cessnock area. It includes the north-western slope of Mount Warrawolong.

Adjoining Watagan Flora Reserves, Warrawolong Nature Reserve is home to threatened botanical species, including the scrub turpentine and rainforest cassia. Many other threatened species have also been recorded in this reserve, like the powerful owl, sooty owl, glossy black-cockatoo, spotted-tailed quoll, yellow-bellied sheathtail-bat, eastern bentwing-bat and large-eared pied bat. 

Recreational activities include bushwalking, birdwatching and nature photography.
