This park was created in January 1999 and covers an area of 2,630 hectares. Mount Pikapene National Park forms part of a group of national parks, nature reserves and state conservation areas located along the southern section of the Richmond Range.
The park contains dry rainforest as well as areas of tall moist forest dominated by spotted gum, grey gum, brush box, turpentine and pink bloodwood.
