Set on the picturesque Edward River in Murray Valley Regional Park, adjacent to Murray Valley National Park, Edward River Bridge campground is bush camping at its best.
It's a great choice for a family camping holiday – being located in Murray Valley Regional Park, it’s dog-friendly, and it’s also free and suitable for caravans, motorhomes and tents. There's plenty to keep everyone happy – go for an energising walk on the Gulpa Creek Forest walks, barbecue at the neighbouring Edward River Bridge picnic area, or relax with a book under the shade of a river red gum. If you've brought your fishing gear along, there are plenty of great spots to cast your line along the river and some good places for swimming, not to mention opportunities to paddle Edward River canoe and kayak trail and bike ride.
Remember to bring your binoculars, as this part of the park is great for birdwatching – head to Reed Beds Bird Hide boardwalk in the nearby Murray Valley National Park for the best opportunities to see migratory birds.
The town of Mathoura isn't far away if you need to pick up some camping supplies or want to start the day reading the paper over a cappuccino.
